A Letter From Pope John Paul II to You!
Saint John Paul II wrote "Letter to Women" in between two United Nations Conferences. As a world leader, he fought to keep abortion as a human right how of the U.N. documents and was successful. Knowing, however, that the same issues would surface again, St. John Paul II decided to circumvent all media and write a letter directly to us. Lately, I have been reflecting on just how special it is he did that. He had every single woman in the world in mind when he wrote to us, and we can still read it today. George Weigel, Saint John Paul II's biographer also commented on the power of the pope's "moral power" at these U.N. conferences. Throughout history, we can see the kind of power that saints carry with their moral authority, and we are called to imitate them.
